Catholics believe the bible and the church have equal authority. Anything the pope says is equal to Gods word

Protestants believe only the bible has authority

Catholics don't believe this. The pope only speaks infallibly along with the magisterium of the church bishops which hasn't happened for quite some time. Whether vatican 2 even counts is debated by church scholars... It's similar to how the VP is only a senator when they need his help to break a tie.
