There is an easier theory: Matthew was written first.
Agreed, plus Matthew was inspired by God to write the words that are in His book.
Probably Mark was the first gospel written. John Mark was with Peter and this was considered to be Peter’s account he was preaching.
Then you will need to believe there are all of these other works that were lost to antiquity (such as the Q source) with no mention of these works by anyone of the early Christians nor throughout the Middle Ages. I’ll stick to Matthew was first. This was the Christian preaching in Palestine at the time and there is evidence that the Greek was translated from Aramaic originally which was the language of Jesus (pointing to Matthew being first)
Totally different "Q". Biblical scholars have long theorized that both Luke and Matthew drew from a previous document they called "Quella" (I believe it's Latin for "source") that either has not been found or that did not survive the ravages of time. It has nothing to do with the Q Team that we know of.
I didn't say it did but there are no coincidences. I just have always known there is a biblical connection.
Could be a reason they chose "Q"
Which Biblical Scholars use the Quella document and where can it be seen?
As I said, it's a hypothetical document, no one has seen in modern times. As to who theorized about it, too many to list. Do a modicum of research and you'll get your answer.
Somehow I didn't understand from what you offered that the document itself was a hypothetical document, only that the scholars had theorized that the document was used by Luke and Mark.
I have always believed and still believe that Luke and Mark simply wrote as they were inspired by the Spirit of God.
Any more research into this is of no interest to me. Thank you!
It's up to you to know or not know.
I know because of my faith.
Actually, anon, I wasn't attacking your faith. I'm washed in the same blood as you are. I was only trying to answer YOUR question about the purported Q document. I'm not making any of this up, I read about it many years ago. Just passing along historical information and what the scholars over the past few centuries have surmised.
??? Nor t sure where that came from.
I was not offended in any way brother. I just don't see how knowledge or no knowledge of a possibly non-existant document could be either helpful or detrimental.
I never thought you made anything up, it's just that my interest was piqued when I read about something I'd not heard of before.
All is well fren! I salute you for your past research/study of biblical things.
Trying to link the Q source to this movement (there’s been more than one post about this) is about the same as linking it to Q from Star Trek. They are the same letter of the alphabet, and that’s about it.
or it represents the source, source of truth
or if a frog had wings...
I tend to agree.
This theory has been debunked long ago. Besides, the Q theory of source of the Gospels meant Source in Latin. The Q we discuss here was first posting in 2017 on half Chan and then later in 8 Chan then 8Kun originally called themselves Q Clearance Patriots. Please get a basic education in Q at Neonrevolt.com.
2 thumbs up!
