Simply put:

good guys in power (mufasa/trump team)
good guys taken out of power by evil people (scar/deepstate) using dirty tricks
bad guys (scar/deepstate) TEMPORARILY gain power and changing things
good guys come back in and reclaim power

ALSO

In the lion king there’s a clear “dark to light” message. When scar is in power there’s a big shadow over the land and when power is reclaimed the light shines upon the land again.
