I want to tell you about a movie. In this movie, 17 years ago, the main character is sure of a looming evil but no one will believe him. They consider him a paranoid conspiracy theorist. A high level establishment employee disseminates critical information to unravel the plot. A star witness is imprisoned and made to look like they died. In this movie, the corrupt evil villain establishes quarantine and curfew in order to protect the populace from themselves. Gas powered vehicles are to be feared. Crimes are swept away and unseen by most. An infallible system is deceptively flawed. The police force is attacked and treated as the enemy. As people look to the news to see what is happening, media is cut out and there is even a blackout. Surveilance is out of control. Disappointment is conveyed when the military doesn't show up to save the day. The suspected main villain is killed by the real villain. The people wake up to the reality of the evil all around them and begin to mass together in defiance. Unlikely allies are suprisingly critical in overcoming the enemy who believes they are doing what is best for humanity, as vile as it seems. In the end, the enemy cannot withstand the force of everyone working together. I-Robot 2004 Odd parallels.

Hadnt watched it forever. The parallels were uncanny. There was even a verbal statement about transition of power.
