as I say to my those around me that I love and care about, I don't want to be treated artficially better on my birthday or have to pretend to treat you better on your birthday or valentines day. I will judge you and you judge me on how I treat you on an ordinary day or more aptly, how I treat you on a bad day

any day or month or other special treatment imho is simply pandering. I appreciate and respect nothing more than honesty even if that honesty reveals a person's bad character trait/s. we're all flawed individuals. it's those who make an effort to learn and grow and change that I will always open my heart to
