Carbon monoxide is inert - not flammable.
Your thinking dioxide... monoxide does burn... I use it in the shop as a cheap foundry fuel... aslong as you evacuate the co2 it burns great... never had it explode though... not sure it would carbon-oxygen bonds dont have the energy and aren't as weak as carbon-hydrogen bonds(where acetylene gets it explosive power)...

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a flammable gas. It is easily ignited when mixed with air in concentrations between 12% and 75%. An explosion is possible, if a mixture of CO and air is ignited in a confined space. Explosions have also occurred when cylinders of compressed CO are heated (perhaps in a fire) to the point that pressure ruptures the cylinder.
Exactly. It could kill you but it does not explode or burn.
