Not gonna lie, I would prefer those kind of buildings over the cities that we currently have.
Would love seeing green cities with animals in it.
The spiritual implications is the pride of making something to compete with heaven, to claim they are gods. “Ye are gods...but you will die like men” Ps. 82:6,7
I've been thinking about the Tower of Babel a lot.
If you look at any aspect of reality, you find an unlimited potential for creation. Any answered question raised an uncountable amount of new questions.
Lately I've been thinking about the Tower of Babel from that perspective.
We're in the image of God, the creator. Wouldn't it be one of the highest forms of honoring and worshipping God to try and fulfill one's potential as a (minor) creator in the image of God? Then any such attempt would invariably lead to another "splitting of languages", since the potential for creation is boundless.
This can be observed in the creation of species, or any creative human endeavor. Be it art, science, music, sports, literature or anything else.
From that perspective there would also be a number of different plausible lessons from that story.
Babel or Babylon has never been a good thing in Scripture. We are made in His image, but if we think we are gods we fall into the trap of Satan.
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! For you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on The farthest sides of the north; i will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit. Isa. 14:12-15
but if it was built in praise of God would that be different?
