I could be drawing conclusions that aren't there, but China is currently trying to expand it's weather control program: https://www.businessinsider.com/china-expanding-weather-modification-program-artificial-rain-snow-2025-2020-12?op=1
And in 2020, China purchased a 130,000 acre wind farm in Texas: https://yournews.com/2020/12/14/1963208/communist-china-bought-130000-acre-wind-farm-in-texas-right-next/
I know the entire country is frigid right now, but could China be controlling at least part of the weather, particularly in and around Texas? What exactly are they doing on that wind farm? Are their weather control capabilities further along than the article suggests? Does this have to do with the storm?
85 degrees in Melbourne, Florida, today.

Not the president just declared a state of emergency in Texas.
DeSantis is president!
Down south, people freak out over ice and snow. Power lines go down because they are not built for ice and snow. Goin to snow here tonight and tomorrow and the most dangerous thing to do is get out on the roads---people don;t realize BRAKES DON"T WORK! Kek
I'm in Texas. This is the craziest snowstorm I've ever seen here. I'm in DFW. A blizzard is forecast which is unheard of. We are not equipped to deal with this kind of weather, and the thing with Texas is, when we get weather like this it usually starts as freezing rain/sleet. So we get a nice layer of ice on the roads before the snow starts. No one knows how to drive in the ice here because we rarely have a chance to practice. We've only had brine trucks for a few years, and even then we don't have many. Most places still use sand..... It's bad. Last week the roads were a little icy (nothing like now) and there was a 150 car crash in fort worth and at least 5 people died. It was horrible.
So yeah, everything shuts down.
There's no such thing as "how to drive in the ice." A car has no traction at all on ice. I remember one time I was sitting still at a stoplight, and the car just slide sideways all the way to the curb. Driving had nothing to do with it. And that was on fresh snow, not pure ice. All the roads here have a slight crown in the center for drainage, so if they're frozen, it's impossible to drive on them.
Haha, I see your point lol. I meant people drive like morons here with little regard to the ice/snow. They hit their brakes on ice, they drive too fast, etc. My husband is a yankee and learned to drive in bad winter weather, and he comments on the crazy drivers here lol. He said he trusts himself driving in this, but he doesn't trust the other Texas drivers not to be idiots hahaha
We did have the Icepocalypse back in December 2013.
The roads iced over, so they put sand on the roads. Every afternoon it would get just above freezing and melt a little. The sand would mix with the water and then it would refreeze. By day 3-4 of this, the roads formed what we called cobblestone ice. It was solid ice, but it was bumpy like cobblestone. It was a mess! It took over a week for everything to melt. And we didn't even get any snow to play in!!! The memes were hilarious. Since then, we have barely gotten any snow at all. So we were due for some good snow! I love it a lot. I feel bad for people that need to go out in it, but my husband's work is closed, so we are excited to get to spend all week (I'm assuming) watching movies and sledding on cardboard boxes.
The ice is the worst part. We had freezing rain/sleet that morphed into snow this time. That is par for the course down here, so the roads are treacherous. No salt and no ploughs, so the world just shuts down. The grocery stores were sold out of everything. People go crazy lol
Yeah I didn't panic buy, either during the pandemic lol
I bought 1 extra pack of toilet paper, but only because it was getting sold out in stores, and I didn't want to run out since people were being ridiculous. 1 extra package, not 20. I still wonder how many people have entire closets full of toilet paper lol
Thanks, I'm planning on having tons of fun. I'm like a little kid when it snows. While my husband and I were on a walk this afternoon, I laid down in the middle of the street and made a snow angel lol I'm ridiculous hahaha, but it was fun!
Yep, and we have 2 kinds of drivers in this type of weather: Rednecks yelling “hold my beer” and have no clue how to drive on ice/snow, and Northerners who say “I’ve been driving on snow my whole life” and don’t understand there’s 1/2” of solid ice underneath that snow.
We sensible folk just stay home.
Amen to that! Kek
cops in amarillo NM stopped my dad from driving because people behind him couldnt drive.
the family they helped at a gas station was also stopped, and had extra blankes for the sudden spike of travelers sleeping in a gymnasium.
cop new my dad could drive, but others would try to follow and cause traffic accidents.
Isn't it the Governor that has to declare an Emergency in a State? Just askin'...
The governor requested the declaration.
Roger that.
Lived in Texas 46 years.... We really don't need ANYBODY'S help..... We'll be just fine....
Texas has its own power grid anyway
Why the fuck would Biden declare a state of emergency in only 1 state? It’s still above 0 and there’s clearly colder weather in other states.
What is Abbott’s response to this?
The governor requested the declaration. My guess is they don't normally have this kind of weather there, so they aren't prepared for it.
I imagine lots of freezing pipes.
Natural gas fracking wells and wind turbines are actually the things that are freezing, which is really bad for heat/power generation.
They ate having rolling blackouts for 30 mins every hour or 2 in Dallas since the grid cant handle this surge of people trying to heat their homes.
Update: Read the article
Abbott requested it.
Texas is not equipped to deal with weather like this. No one knows how to drive in ice. Our powerlines aren't made to withstand it. We don't have snow ploughs, and we only have a few brine trucks in the big cities. Smaller towns have sand trucks. I grew up in a small town and my mom was driving once and saw two guys shoveling sand from the back of a pickup truck on overpasses. That was our sand truck lol
I know people up North don't get it, but we just don't have the means to deal with this weather because it rarely happens. This is the worst snowstorm I've ever seen here and I've lived here my whole life and I'm almost 33. They are forecasting blizzard conditions tonight. It's insane. I know you yankees don't get it, but it's a big deal. I'm expecting everything to be shut down for the next week.
Because Texans rarely deal with this kind of weather, so no infrastructure is in place to handle it. Not to mention cars sliding on the roads like in NC.
Fuck Biden
u/#Bernieclap
It boils down to reduced Natural Gas. What’s changed in a few weeks?
Abbot requested the declaration of emergency.
Clearly global warming is upon us nay sayers
"...in response to the historic severe winter weather"
OP what the fuck are you smoking
It hasn't been below freezing here in eastern NC for a good while, and we haven't had a day yet this winter where the temps failed to go above freezing. Usually, we have a good number of days that don't make it up to freezing.
