The grand solar minimum seems to be bringing in much colder than normal temperatures already in much of the country. I think we are going to see more of this during this winter and spring and then probably even more next fall / winter. I have no idea if "the storm" in any way refers to a real storm but it seems like some kind of unprecedented mega winter storm could happen that would cause immense destruction across the nation and maybe this would cause the military to step in as the Xiden administration would be too inept to do anything.

Still no power, even colder in the house. The little girl doesn't understand at all but she's being a trooper. At least if power doesn't come back tomorrow it starts to warm back up!
Power back on yet?
It just came back on about 20 minutes ago!!
They say we now move from it being completely off to rolling blackouts again as Texas tries to bring on more solar and geothermal energy, but it looks like the worst is past, so even if we lose power it should only be for an hour and we won't be cold.
It got to 36f in the house last night, we stayed warm with everyone on the bed including doggos and cattos and judicious amounts of blankets and those little iron powder hand warmers packets haha.
Makes one really consider how modern things can break down without constant reliability on the state apparatus. The pioneers of America built their own houses in such a way that a single fire in the middle of the house kept everything warm and provided cooking space! ( As you can see, no power has given me much time to think and contemplate instead of distract myself with video games )
Thanks for checking up on us, it... Really actually means a lot even through the 1s and 0s of the internet.
This is just one of the blessings I have found in this dark time—genuine human connection and expressions of compassion. I believe that will continue after we get through this.
Glad you are all well.
Everything is bigger in Texas :D
The real warm feels like a blessing. Also being able to cook again, no natural gas appliances because of "environmentalism" in the city.
I'll be making strategic purchases again. I always planned for Antifa or BLM to riot and shut down things, or Q to engage, so always kept 2 weeks of canned food and water, always imagined that would happen during the last summer with BLM riots, never ever did I imagine needing to plan to generate heat lol, i mean, even last week it was 87* at night and we're looking at 90*weather next week on the forecast
