The enviromentalists and the New GREEN DEAL Bullshit
I have live in various parts of Texas for over 30 years and have never seen the problems that there is today with loss of electricity. I had an Doctors appointment today and while waiting for it to be cancelled i was told by a man in a business suit who was escorting either his father or grandfather in a wheel chair that the problem, is not power lines being down but with the fact alot of the generating facilitys being shut down because the left not wanting them to use GAS or COAL.
These fuckers need to pay for it now!!!
Um...I heard once that it’s a bad idea to mess with Texas.... Pretty sure this is gonna leave a mark.
We’re all pretty pissed off
Y’all have a right to be.
I'm thinking it's time for Texans to stop being polite and take their state back.
And I read that AOC has posted that this is indeed the reason WHY we need Green New Deal. I pray for all that has been affected.
The brazen balls or complete ignorance of that woman amaze me. I am a Texan engineer in the oil and gas. I know wtf I am talking about.
At what point does an " accident " become an attack ?
Do we just let them chaulk everything up to incompetence or " unforeseen complications " and let them walk, only to do it again ?
How many times and how far does it have to go before we begin talking about " by design " ?
I live between Houston and Galveston. I am on day 3 without power. Galveston county coroner’s office has asked for refrigeration trucks for bodies.
So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say without power those corpses are gonna stay nice and frosty.
People are dying. They shouldn't be "collateral damage" to the environmentalists movement- but they are precious souls.
Its not about the environment. Its about killing us.
I corrected my post to reflect the real point I was making-that environmentalists think of those that have died as collateral damage to their "religion", but they are precious souls to us. Ty for pointing out my error.
Actually I just read that coal piles froze and the gas pipelines froze as well. The causes are many.

It's MSM but this seems to be a fairly decent article about the subject.
"As demand reached new heights, the supply of electricity fell drastically in the past few days, far below what operators expected. Ordinarily, ERCOT plans for winter to be much warmer and anticipates a lower energy demand. Power providers often schedule downtime and maintenance during the winter months to prepare for the massive annual surge in electricity demand in the hot Texas summer. The state’s ample wind and solar energy resources are also diminished in the winter, so ERCOT doesn’t depend on them to meet much of the demand they anticipate."
"However, the cold itself posed a direct challenge to the power sources that the state was counting on. Wind turbines iced up. Coal piles froze.
The biggest shortfall in energy production stemmed from natural gas. Gas pipelines were blocked with ice or their compressors lost power. Much of the gas that was available was prioritized for heating homes and businesses rather than generating electricity. That’s helpful for people who use gas for heating but less so for those who use electric furnaces."
Thx so much!
Yes, BUT. The reason 20% of our state’s energy comes from wind and solar is because THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DEMANDS IT.
Wind and solar are useless in a snow/ice storm.
By some stroke of luck, we still have power. But the little town that supplies our water hasn’t had electricity in 3 days. No electricity, no water pumps.
Why are wind turbines in Greenland and Antarctica able to function in freezing cold and snowy conditions? Because unlike Texas, they use turbines that can handle it. Your state went cheap because they never expected this type of weather. It's like in Georgia when you see cars unable to drive in 2 inches of snow because who needs to buy snow tires in Georgia.
Even if 100% of your power came from gas, coal, and nuclear, you would have still had the problems because your state government and those people who run ERCOT screwed the pooch when it came to preparing for this type of event.
It was the Chinese who went cheap.

But the biggest issue in Texas was the gas pipelines froze, and/or the compressor pumps. Blaming 'green' stuff plays to the audience but it's the utilities not building enough robustness into their systems. It's like that in CA - PGE (local power co) neglected maintenance for decades and when the fires hit, all hell broke loose due to worn out / busted gear.
So sorry you are going through this. Prayers

Too bad Texas shipped out all the gas and oil they produce. You would think they would have saved a bit back for themselves.
Yup!
My hope is that the Military arrests Gov. Wheelchair and his band of Traitors first, and get them priority seating in Gitmo. Austin like DC is run by traitors.
