Well, nobody really pays any attention to the shootings in Chicago, given that there are dozens each week.

You're right about that as when I was a kid growing up, I don't pay attention to the news. The only time a "Breaking News" would come on is when there's a shooting that occurred outside of the South Side.

When a shooting has occurred in the south side, it's your typical story, nothing drastic or surprising. Gang wars, shootings, kids dying etc in South Side is common. Anything that happens outside of South Side is alarming.

Ford City Mall isn't in the south side, I've been there a few times myself and I have never been to the south side, ever.
