I don't mind the dates so long as they are not accompanied by "If X doesn't happen by Y, I'm done with Q."

Almost certainly nothing will happen on the dates, but they have seemed to cause ammunition use. Eventually, once no one believes dates at all any more, one of those dates might just be the real deal!
