Especially since the ship was traveling at twice the speed limit of the canal, at 15 knots.

Right?! The Ever Given has a top speed of 22 knots so, it was really moving. Another GA Anon posted up a graphic of the windspeed that day on the canal as a rebuttal to the reasoning presented that the 'high winds' caused the problem with the ship. I wish I had grabbed a shot of that.
