After living here for going on 13 years, a lot of the people I meet who vote blue do it purely because they have always voted party only. I have also seen an increase in California plates in town on vehicles here so looks like there is an influx of people leaving that state. Here in Northern NM especially the Santa Fe area people are just sheeple, and mostly listen to the MSM propaganda and therefore suffer from TDS. However during the 2020 election I saw more Trump support than I have ever seen for a republican candidate, and to the point I thought we were going to turn this state Red.
Lujan on the other hand is a marxist puppet and is just following orders, but seems like a lot of people here are anxious to get the jab in hopes of getting back to some sort of norm. As this state has mostly been locked down since March of last year.
I want to love the state. I really do. Great weather, beautiful scenery ... but the politics and (from what I hear) the people make it not so great. High crime. Libtards everywhere. Commie government, etc.
Love the land, but not so sure about the people on the land (speaking about the majority sheeple, not the patriots).
Nobody lives in New Mexico because they love the state government. NM is highly DOMINION-ized is my theory and most just assume the dems are winning fairly and doing nothing but keep trying to vote Republican. In 2018 the state had an influx of Republican voters working in the oil field and had news reports of funny business in the vote totals for the southern district US House race where SOME HOW the dem won. From that time on I knew without a doubt the races were compromised.
NM is an interesting state, so parts of it especially here in Northern NM has a tribal mentality. Very close knit Catholic families with generations that can go all the back to the Spaniards when they were here. And those people mostly have conservative values with their daily lives. They love hunting, fishing, camping and they do love the 2A. But a lot of them vote blue, which makes no sense to me. Then you have the white liberals, that are just obnoxious and most the native hispanics I know cant stand them.
I am 1/4 hispanic so I tend to be very accepted by the native people here, but my wife being a blonde experiences a lot of racism towards her. So I would have to say, for me the people have been great, and my wife has made some really good friends here.
The further south you go, like Demming, Roswell, Las Cruces, and Ruidoso etc.. There is more of an Anglo influence and seems to be more politically conservative. Crime is really bad in parts of ABQ, but not all of it. I guess its somewhat like any other large metropolitan area right? We moved here from PHX and when we left there, crime was average, but now there seems to be more of an uptick from what we see on the local news when we go back there.
So I hate the politicians here, as I hate most of them everywhere in our country. But it seems like they have been less successful in implementing the marxist agenda like say for instance in California. Not to say it cant happen, but I dont feel the need to relocate at the moment. LOL
Well we lived north PHX and worked in North Scottsdale. When we arrived in Northern NM, our first thought, especially my wife. Was WTF, this place is Ghetto! LOL Zoning is just whacked, you can have a $500K home right across the street from a trailer home. PHX is a rat race, whereas NM has a more rural feel to it, so very laid back mostly. That has totally grown on us, and that PHX rat race no longer appeals to us at all. We have family and friends in both Tucson and PHX, but prefer Tucson as it has that more laid back vibe going on. We dont live in ABQ, but my wife works there, she doesn't like it at all. But she works near the war zone, however she is transferred to Rio Rancho, so we'll see how she likes that area. The scenery where we live is beautiful if you like looking at mountains while enjoying a frosty malt beverage or a glass of vino. We didnt have such a view in PHX.
Our state is the first in everything bad (us or Mississippi generally) and last in everything good ( again Mississippi is racing us for last place). The weather is good, low on bugs. Beautiful sky and views. Sadly no water, I am afraid of my well running dry. Politics are CA but we're are just super poor so they can't force to much on us.
I have tried to leave this state 3 times, but it's not called the land of entrapment for nothing.
Interesting, I was in Albuquerque and it had that blue city feel for sure, I know it when I see it, but I'm sure some of the more outlying areas are more based, also I didn't go out to the suburbs much really

What is your opinion about living in New Mexico?

How do you compare PHX with ABQ in terms of living and lifestyle?

Sorry to hear that. Maybe one day you'll be accepted.
LOL oh boy major grammar fail there. Oh well thanks for the correction.?

We used to call people from AZ 'zonies I think NM is even further out the spectrum..
too many missile tests lead to the politician huffing rocket fuel.
