Trump has chosen to try to reform the Republican Party rather than start a new one. He may be making some headway, given the list of speakers here.
He probably sees a possibility of bringing the Republican party back from the ashes now that he has taken control of it and has won over the very voters who put rhinos like Mitch and others in the senate and house in elections prior to 2016.
Here's hoping it works. It probably would be easier to do that than try to overcome the third party barrier that seems to naturally exist within our system.
Leverage is important. I think this is the only reason.
He's likely going to be in for a huge disappointment when all those walk-away dems, walk away again, and are joined by disgusted conservatives, and independents who can clearly see that our nation is facing a far greater threat from the ruling political establishment than most realize. I think we need to pay attention to nuance here (as in every other time). In a recent interview, for example, I caught that POTUS said it was easier for him (to be publicly out of the presidential role) as he wasn’t encumbered by restrictions he would otherwise have been. He also said he was working hard (for the American people). Put two and two together. Really, the “round up all the bad players and drop them out of helicopters onto the WH lawn” Rambo scenario wouldn’t serve us well in eradicating the evil.
I’m not claiming to have the answers here, consider myself to be more of a newbie (just over three months) compared to the Q-veterans, but as I’ve said virtually from my beginning here, I’m seeing the minor DS players feeling emboldened to step forward and expose themselves, this by thinking they’re ruling the roost, all due to the white hats proceeding at this pace and in this manner. Let’s drag as much of this slime out of the swamp now so we won’t have as much to deal with later. We’re going to have a veritable mountain of work to do as it is when the worst is behind us and things settle down.
Instead of expecting POTUS to proclaim brazenly how the laundry list of bad characters is caught dead-to-rights and is going to be facing down military tribunals, listen carefully to what he says and how he says it. Thanks for that. I’ve been checking for a possible broadcast without any luck. Another anon, sparty_girl, above, mentioned that it’s likely to not be in media. That said, a Fox article on it said that the RNC attendees would be traveling over to M-a-L to hear POTUS’s keynote address which he’ll give from there so I was hoping that POTUS would include some trusted media to get the message out. It’s supposed to be later today so we’ll know by this evening I hope.
