On that research portal there are about 1,220,000 results for “cognitive dissonance”
It is WELL STUDIED. It is not "only" a theory. You are wrong. Have a good day = oops please don't press me on this, I wish to escape my error (more dissonance, how does it feel?.... its a little painful isn't it)
There are 1.2m results for cognitive dissonance , but they don’t all relate to the phenomenon you’re describing.
I’m certain that testing it amongst 100 people x will have the result you describe , but I am also certain there will be a portion , y , in which the opposite happens.
I’ve been forced into plenty of things publicly and haven’t developed cognitive dissonance twisting my view into thinking I loved it.
Furthermore the level that most people are operating at with masks , they’re barely thinking about it - it’s not enough to cause a trauma response in the brain.
Twisting [your] view into thinking [you] loved it is not the effect described - your wording is too extreme - you did this to support your view, which is a strawman. The effect of dissonance is called "spreading apart the alternatives" it can be quite mild, just enough to ease the dissonance pain. Trauma is not required, simply a difference between what you want and what you do.
You're attacking me (calling me a twat) because this happens to you (it happens to everyone fren) and you don't like it. I don't like it either.
I dare say it is something that affects some more than others. Consider it when you've cooled off. I point it out to help people. Sometimes helping means not backing down.
The reference is on the graphic - it is the first study of its kind. This is the reference: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Cognitive-consequences-of-forced-compliance.-Festinger-Carlsmith/9b6e43983b4f178b9381487f2f6b1eaf20774d6a (a google of Festinger and Carlsmith (1959)) would have got you there. Again, it is on the graphic.

Stop being a twat.

“Once you drop to your knees , that act will become something you defend, enjoy even, this is a scientific FACT”
My wording is too extreme is it ?
I don't know, I have not dropped to my knees. The related experiments suggest what they suggest. The results of experiments are a fact.
I can see your reading too.
