Some states maintain a database of vaccinations.
In Texas, it's voluntary if you choose to have your vaccinations registered with the state... but if not, then you do have to show proof of vaccination when required.
Since you could get the Covid "vaccine" just about anywhere these days, including any pharmacy, many grocery stores offering them, in parking lot events, at hospitals, at city parks, at churches or other places... it's really difficult to track down if you actually got the "vaccine". It's a pretty haphazard roll-out of vaccination for 200 MILLION Americans over a 6-month time frame. They aren't keeping the best of records at this point.
Most private XYZ companies will have no way to validate your "CDC Card" if it looks legitimate. Due to medical privacy laws, many employers wouldn't be able to find out about your immunization records unless you choose to show them. If they called a doctor or hospital to request your records, they would refuse to divulge private information.
