I wonder if there is anything interesting in this assignment of corporate authority. What exactly is corporate authority, and why would it be useful for a General Assembly person to have it.

Corporate authority (from legal-lingo.net):

The power rightfully wielded by officers of a corporation.
In some jurisdictions, a municipal officer, esp. one empowered to represent the municipality in certain statutory matters.

Does the second definition mean judges? Could this give Assembly people the rights of both police and judges? If so, we should add "executioner" on there. Makes it all nice and tidy.

I also wonder if there might be something there about the corporate nature of our "republic."
