I have relatively recently found my faith in God. I was agnostic until an accident i walked away from last November where I should have been crippled.
Today i find myself saying a prayer for the officer in Columbus Ohio. While my personally held beliefs say the situation was handled justly, I am sure the officer is is probably in a vulnerable state of mind. I think back to my time in the service, decisions made in thousandths of a second change lives forever. Please know many Americans appreciate officers that put their lives on the line daily. Please find peace with the decision made and the action taken. It is terribly sad that a teenager lost her life, and I grieve for that family. But I also think of how thankful the family of the teenagers that was saved must be.
So if you have time, say a prayer today.
I once heard it said that a gun isn't just for taking lives, it is a tool and can give or take life. In hunting it takes the life of an animal but gives life to the hunter. in self defense you take a life but it also gives life to the victim who was attacked. The police have a huge responsibility and have to decide under a lot of pressure and quickly who they will give life to if another wants to take it.
