Interesting, my grandparents were farmers and they got paid to not farm. I always thought the idea was to get other countries to depend on us for trade so we could avoid conflict. I'm sure there are lots of reasons.

I just wonder if Gates is getting paid federal funds to not farm all that farmland he bought up.
