It’s not too bad. Just have to pull the rod out that holds it in. The most difficult part is the tiny little C clip type piece that sits in a notch on the barrel side. I’d MAY be 1mm wide if that. After you get it off the rod just comes right out. Goes back in the same way, but you have to put the spring in a certain way. Took me maybe 10 minutes because I cleaned underneath it while I had it off lol
I’m no commie but I sort of prefer an AK, simply because of all the little pieces of an AR. It’s not practical
My sole objection to that is that the AR is a black rifle and is easy to conceal in the bush....but that bright yellow is not very stealthy. Love the "snek" thing though.
I used to live near Palmetto State Armory. I’d never heard of the KS-47 but I checked it out and fell in love. Currently out of stock though
Mad lads sat around and said “What if we just take an AR upper, and drop it right down on an AK lower, but chamber it in 7.62” ? Brilliant
I agree. But they won’t get close enough to see it lol I won awards for marksmanship in Scouts
Love the gun, hate the bolt carrier. WHY does it have to be that hard as crap to clean star shape area??
It’s hard to clean all of it. Every bit of it. From the corners of the stock to the notches in the hand guard lol I’m looking at upgrading a lot of it now. Currently looking at charging handles but I don’t know if I want to spend $100 on something that is rarely used if the gun is operated properly
Those little pieces may be a pain, yes but they have been proven robust beyond a shadow of a doubt. You can pick apart any AR to repair yours. Parts should all be swappable.
Try that with an AK. It may work sometimes but you will find many issues, and some which may not be immediately evident but create long-term reliability issues.
Of course I am speaking hyperbolically.
My main gripe with the AR is its plastic stock. The AK is plain handsome. Put a Boyd's stock and a silent buffer spring on my AR and it solved all my problems.
That’s true. Everything would be replaceable if shit ever hit the fan because everyone would be using AR platforms LOL
My primary reasoning for liking the AK centers around reliability. I’ve seen documentary where they find an AK from some war (Vietnam I want to say). It was buried in the mud and sand and had been exposed to the elements for probably decades. They picked it up and fired it and it still sent a round. The reliability and the simplicity. Plus the bigger punch of the 7.62x39.
I like them both honestly
