I think that a tension exists between free will and predestination. I do believe that, regarding salvation, free will plays an important role. God draws, man responds, either in belief or rejection. At the same time, Scripture is quite clear that there are definite, fixed, and appointed times for certain events. It is also clear that God intervenes in, and rules over, the affairs of men. Scripture says as much. Numerous stories exist of personal experiences of divine intervention from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War, to World Wars I/II.
