We still have mask mandates in Ohio but I never wear one unless I am expressly asked by someone whose Job requires them to ask. Went to Home Depot today and it was packed and everyone was masked up...except me. No one said a word to me about the mask!
Q - What’s the worst that can happen if you don’t wear a mask? A - someone may ask you to put one on. That’s it! Unless you are deathly afraid of Covid, stop being afraid to stand up for yourself a little. If you can’t stand up for yourself about a little mask, when will you?
Walked into a Walgreens today with no mask. Picked up a prescription, and got something else. As I was taking it to the register, the cashier said I had to wear a mask because there was a sign. I said, it's not a law. Just ring us up. She looked at me like I was batshit insane, but didn't say anything else. Walked out with my head held high.
At Walgreens today the fine print at the bottom of the mask sign in the window says:
UNLESS DOING SO WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT YOUR HEALTH
I wear a mask exemption card which says I have a breathing condition. Never been asked to wear a mask.
There was one store assistant a week or so ago who came over to me as if on a mission, but when he got to me he saw the card and just said a friendly hello then walked off.
The card doesn't say what condition I have and nobody has ever asked.
That's fine patriot, whatever works to lubricate life.
For me it's too much like the yellow star, or "Let me see ze paperss zat permit you to breeze free." But if it feels like a win, it's a win.
BTW every single person reading this has a breathing condition. You do business with them, on the condition that you are allowed to freely breathe air (not constantly rebreathe your own CO2 and germs) and share your smile.
