My family and I have not worn masks with exception to a private business asking us to do so, but we have noticed a trend. My wife went to a "drive by baby shower" where everyone was sitting outside wearing masks. She showed up without a mask and slowly people started taking theirs off ultimately leading to no one wearing a a mask.
We are just finishing a weekend in NYC visiting family, not wearing masks outside, and my family who lives here and started the weekend wearing them outside ended the weekend without wearing them (which the admitted the normally do). My nephew (11 y/o) straight up asked me "why aren't you wearing your mask?". I simply said "I'm not afraid to be outside or around others without one".
Once people realize you and others aren't afraid, gives them strength and confidence to follow. I think it's a good step forward.
All I wanna do when I walk through stores lately is yell out ... TAKE OFF YOUR MASKS!
There are more subtle ways to wake up the sheep
This ?! Haven't the cajones to do that yet, but now I've started honking at people who are outside wearing them...2 or 3 quick honks. They'll probably think I'm applauding them but when they see my unmasked face drive by (window up though), they'll realize I'm calling them out on their cowardice.
That's nearly impossible these days I'm afraid :(
I’ve noticed the same thing! Keep it up and put the mask down!
Amen man. I make no apologies for not being afraid.
I think it's the narrative they've built that you don't wear the mask for yourself, but for others. F$#& that. I'm not responsible for anyone aside for anyone other than myself and my family.
That's it in a nutshell. Personal responsibility supersedes all..
It all leads to the collective and the greater good. False. The individual and individual liberties supercedes all. They are trying to erase that!
supersedes
Masks are very good for pneumonia. A woman in the next village just spent a week in hospital with it. But they'll never learn.
Hello fellow masshole.???
I have made it my lifes goal to go through this nonsense not covering my face once. And to date,i have not covered my face once!
I only go to stores that know me. I spend a lot of money between the places i do business with.they dont want to lose it.
If i need something from the bigger stores my gf puts tge diaper on cuz shes one of the "i have no choice if i want to eat" people. She hates it. I do my best to get what we need from the friendly stores so she dont have to wear it.
The place im work8ng at brought in a new guy yesterday to show him around. They come out in the shop and dude starts putting his mask on. I gave him a smile.he looked around and saw non of us had one on.he put it in his pocket. He had a kinda embarrassed look on his face, like he was ashamed he even had it out in the first place.
I hear ya. I have been making a habit of going into stores in MA without my mask, expecting and having a staff member say "excuse me sir, can you put on your mask". Which I then play dumb and say "oh I forgot, no prob". I'm not here to bust a 9-5 min wagers balls, but I do think this little action will lead to others realizing that masks are not normal and not wearing one is normal.
They can all still be reached. I pity the easily subjugated, but it takes a person going against the grain to perhaps wake them up and make them realize. Hope is not lost, and we are keeping hope alive!
Yeah I'm getting close to reaching the end of my tether too. People over here jog with the stuff on
