She is such a smart governor. I read she is pissed about Bidet cancelling her 4th of July fireworks at Mt Rushmore. Looking into declaring those lands belong to state not feds so he'd have no authority there
I am just about to start a real estate search for places to live in South Dakota. I like how politics are being played out up there.
I like the thought process, executive orders are not laws, they are rules demanded by a dictator, against my Constitutional Rights, and there for my state should be able to say ignore EO's, they are not legal.
do it? SD is always a great place, but even more so with all the madness going on. what type of town are you looking for? Sioux Falls is really nice and always scores well on the surveys. it's SD's biggest city, and still less than 200,000.
I'm going to Mt. R. for the 4th, but not familiar with Hill City, so asked my friend who's from that area. she said; she would love to live there, lot's of retried folks, it's beautiful, a niche for tourism in the summer, and she used the word 'lovely' twice. said the Alpine Inn is a great place to eat. glad you mentioned HC as it will give us another place to visit.
Hill City is fun during the summer, but pretty dead during the winter. Consider Custer, just to the south. But the outskirts of Rapid City toward Ellsworth Airforce base is reasonable price and lots of land.
This just goes to prove that Potatus isn't in charge. If it was this easy for a state to ignore an EO, then you can bet your sweet bippy the blue states would have been doing this for Trump's entire 4-year term.
Many years ago I got the chance to visit Doune castle in Scotland where they filmed Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If you went into the gift shop, which was just off the passage that leads into the interior castle grounds, they would let you borrow a pair of hollowed-out coconut halves so that you could "ride your steed" down the passage way just like in the movie.
They were filming a pilot for a television show while I were there. You could see the sets, but you weren't allowed to photograph them. At the time they wouldn't tell you what show they were filming. Care to guess? I found out later that it was "Game of Thrones."

You just made my day fren!

Smaller town, thinking closer to Black Hills area, Stayed at Hill City in the 90's, don't know how it is today.

Before there was Saturday Night Live, there was Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In:

Oh yeah - reason for my quote. Ruth Buzzy was a national treasure. Laugh In, Benny Hill, Monty Python ... funny as hell.
My favorite pre-covid pandemic:
Man 1 (ringing bell): Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!
Old mad is dumped on wagon: But, I'm not dead yet!
Man 1: You soon will be.
Don't know what I like better, Holy Grail (hey, big nose!) or Meaning of Life (fuck off, I'm full)

ALL STATES should have this!
Now do it with words, because I'm not watching YouTube.
