I am just about to start a real estate search for places to live in South Dakota. I like how politics are being played out up there.
I like the thought process, executive orders are not laws, they are rules demanded by a dictator, against my Constitutional Rights, and there for my state should be able to say ignore EO's, they are not legal.
do it? SD is always a great place, but even more so with all the madness going on. what type of town are you looking for? Sioux Falls is really nice and always scores well on the surveys. it's SD's biggest city, and still less than 200,000.
I'm going to Mt. R. for the 4th, but not familiar with Hill City, so asked my friend who's from that area. she said; she would love to live there, lot's of retried folks, it's beautiful, a niche for tourism in the summer, and she used the word 'lovely' twice. said the Alpine Inn is a great place to eat. glad you mentioned HC as it will give us another place to visit.
Hill City is fun during the summer, but pretty dead during the winter. Consider Custer, just to the south. But the outskirts of Rapid City toward Ellsworth Airforce base is reasonable price and lots of land.

Smaller town, thinking closer to Black Hills area, Stayed at Hill City in the 90's, don't know how it is today.
