The thing about cytokine storm is that it isn't an all that common thing with any disease, so it is fairly safe to assume that the likelihood of shedding causing this reaction is about comparable with any other ailment causing it.

The big difference is that unlike with a disease the shedding is a saturation and exposure time thing while with a disease its a 1-shot and you're done, either you get the storm(very low chance) or you don't, so if anything there's probably less of a chance of shedding causing it than a communicable disease causing it...
