Faraday cages required or I only need to turn off the electronics around a hour before it hits ?
Will there be damages to the grid as a whole, or only the comes will be stricken as the sattellites will go haywire ?

It’s already happened.
Network went down at the office yesterday afternoon, thought it might have been related to the storm hitting but it wasn't a widespread internet outage in our area like you'd expect.
