Why try to pretend it's one or the other? Buy both. A lot of stuff goes "poof" if the electrical grids go down permanently, that doesn't mean it isn't a worthwhile investment.

Truth. That is why the best investment is to have things in your house that you can barter and get by with. Play the system but the time to get bearish could be near.
