When you think about it, though, what does the party system offer? If we understand that the primary duty of any and all public servants is to protect the rights of the people while obeying the Constitution, what is there to argue about? Parties bring divisiveness and distraction from those two vital goals. The focus becomes "party" and THEIR ideas instead of principles and the absolute standards that keep us focused on the truth. Our Founders were firmly opposed to political parties. When public servants are not allowed to bring in other "strange" ideas, perhaps they would look to the timeless principles that the founders wrote about. Someone else said it best: Government either protects our rights or it violates them. There shouldn't be much room for argument there, IMHO.
I agree, there should not be multiple parties, there should only be patriots. But there have been more than one party forever in this country. Sad really.
