Good catch. I always wonder though. If Q is not broadcasting their next move, how does the DS know bad news is coming? Or they figure out someone else key has disappeared?

It's not so much that the ds knows bad news is coming but more that they know their moves are bad and they need to hide their moves. They need the cover of a distraction to stay in the dark or they will be exposed. Q is just trying to push them into the light for all to see.
