I think the problem is that people who are good at hitting a vein won't do it to kill someone and the result is a lot of painful puncturing which the usual suspects sue the state over. Plus, I never thought this concoction was the most humane way to poison someone and as I recall the inventor finally agreed.

You’re right it isn’t. Certainly wouldn’t be my way to go out.
A good, properly set up hanging is very arguably a more humane execution. And very effective.
