This is just a show to make it look like they are taking side effects seriously. They will come back and say that after their assessment they have concluded that the benefit out weighs the risk.

Not for me it doesn't. I recall reading in the bible, and I agree that passing the children over the fire is a detestable thing in Gods eyes.
