As someone who graduated from an Ivy League, I'm saddened by my newer alumni. When I went, I was taught by my teachers to be a Conservative. Now, they're teaching students to be Communists.
It is no longer education - it is indoctrination for leftist ideologies, and also to be useful idiots (they are not mutually exclusive, which is pretty much everything you need to know about leftist ideologies).
I also went to an Ivy League for a couple of years before dropping to start my company, I felt that the problem is even worse than that, they manage to indoctrinate themselves, it feels like every time a young brain get to see the leftists viewpoints they tend to switch to those, especially people with a good education, never understood why
Its an easy sell. Most folks aren't**** sociopaths and understand human emotions. You just say that others are suffering at the hands others, a small minority is being demonized by the powerful. If you have any shred of human decency, you can feel for those being demonized.
Is there unfair persecution? Of course. However, the problem is no where near as bad as they say it is (no duh right?). However being able to silence folks using woke ideology and a misguided attempt to right the world gives power to those who never had any to begin with, from basement dwellers to ivy league students, is drug more powerful than heroine or crack.
While these people can sometimes be intelligent, but they are extremely weak willed. No offense to my religious frens, most of these folks were controlled previously by the church, and turned into descent folks as a result. Trump was on his way to stopping all of this shit. I pray we can return to the way things were.
If I were a hiring manager I’d also be looking at LinkedIn profiles and resumes. Any with (she/her) or (he/him) go into the waste basket. You see, it isn’t discriminatory as it is applied equally across all resumes no matter what gender they claim. It discriminates against stupid which is still legal.
pretty much i tend to do my own research on candidates i hire. I go a step further and pretty much delete or dont engage with any vendor who sends me emails that has that in their email signature as well. A friend of mine works for an hr software company and was told he was forced to do that as company policy - i said well if you ever email me from your work email i am tossing it - he said he would probably do the same thing himself lol.
I think we need more trade schools in America and less colleges. Its simple you want to learn a skill to make money then go to a school that focuses on that and all curriculum is based around what you need to do to be proficient at your trade. Colleges now are just scams, you want to learn how to code next thing you know your taking Cultural Anthropology courses and other bullshit classes. All of this is so the school can make money and sell you over priced books etc. The cherry on top is your also get to be bombarded by propaganda and become brainwashed.
Up until 2017, I was a staff member in a research department of a rather large Southern land grant university. I came frequent contact with faculty and students (particularly grad students) doing scientific research and helped them with their grant applications. What I encountered were faculty who could barely string together two or three simple declarative sentences (mostly foreign-born and a lot of Chinese faculty) and grad students who did not appear to be ready to live in the real world. So it's not just Ivy League... the left has screwed up state colleges & universities as well.
Its stupid to think yku can graduate at 22 to 34 years old with a degree and think that degree means you are competent. A masters or PhD 22 to 25 yo means you demonstrates the ability to regurgitate useless shit. You are really no better prepared to flip burgers than the average h.s. graduate. Difference is you have an inflated view of your intelligence. Smart companies are seeing experience, drive, innovation and the ability to grind it out are way more valuable.
The "you" you speak of is NOT me. At 76, I know what I know from sometimes harsh experience. My last 10 years of work (ended 2005) saw me at the top of my trade in equipment repair, also dealing with managers with no real experience in running a shop that maintains the money making equipment. Thus my contempt... J/S
For many majors this is indeed the case; however, certain practical fields such as engineering, accounting, and nursing really do teach their graduates useful skills. I grew a lot as both a person and a student during my time in engineering school. But I agree that real work experience still trumps everything else. A diploma is just a fancy piece of paper until you can demonstrate that you can work well in the real world.
15 percent was for an actual heart surgeon or neural surgeon stuff like that. Hands on shit which nursing very much is. We have 3 in the family and they all have a foot out the door.
I honestly wouldn’t hire most recent college grads. I would rather hire a 18 year old out of high school snd just train them myself. The wokeness just causes problems.
I saw a video from Jovan Pulitzer recently about what he looks for in hiring his employees. I do believe he agrees with you. Looks for loyal, hard working, driven, honest, willing to learn, etc.. rather than those with degrees.
I got so lucky in college. Im a newer graduate (got an actually useful degree), my college was not as bad when I started in 2015, I had many disagreeing viewpoints and expressed them openly with professors and students and everyone was chill. It wasn't till my last year I saw it going down hill. They started posting "rape culture" posters and things like that and I was like. Thank God I got out in time. Never suffered a drop in grades and many professors admired my push against the system/ideologies that where being pushed onto other students. Helps that my major attracts a bunch of conservatives as well. Anyway thats my ramble. Good to see a pushback from employers over this woke bullshit
My father had a policy on hiring before he retired as far as hiring new college grads… people who went to good land grant institutions, smaller colleges that were focused on business or did time in a community college then transferred to a larger school that had the degree program went to the top of the stack. Ivy leaguers went strait to the trash.
Hire Veterans with a Technical background & real world EXPERIENCE over today’s College trained marxists. Depends on what your company does of course, but I went to several Universities AND served in military. Night and Day as far as quality of the people. My experiences were 40 years ago in both environments so I’m sure it’s harder now.
That point in the article that these graduates won’t speak up when they need or are needed to....
That probably accounts for a significant majority of all students at all grades in the education system .... let alone, the Ivy League grads.....!
Our children are being taught not to question any narrative from their teachers or tutors..... and it’s that same ‘silence’ that is damaging all of our younger generations as they reach the workplace and adult life....
Both my cousins graduated ivy league Yale and forgot the other. What retards. UBI is great! Etc. They are the dumbest morons. Can't fix a toilet or the drywall and call whenever they are in need but stick their nose up at you every other day like they are something special. Neither has worked since grad day and they are both now in their 30s.

Teaching them to be Useful Idiots.
THIS ^^^^

Yeap.
Save your money.
Student debt is basically indentured servitude to the gov. It breeds distrust, destroys human ingenuity and fosters mediocrity.

That's fair.
You are hiring men and women who are qualified for the position.
Since they don't fall into those two categories... they are not a proper candidate.
If they address themselves as "they", "them", "zie" or "zim", I guess you would put that resumé in the paper shredder, not the wastebasket.
I'd further guess that is only because open flames are prohibited in most office buildings.

And obviously brainwashed.

America needs more boot camps
This! ☝?

Oh God yes. Ivy Leaguers excel at indifferently fleecing the American people of wealth and dignity.
No one who relies on productivity for a living would have any use for one.
And the MBA grads have changed it to Master of Business Assassination...?

They have undervalued the kind of work you do for years and pushed young people into mindless shit.
There is nothing better than to build and fix shit with your hands.

Is this sentence supposed to be in English?

Same here! For my degree, all the professors & students were interested in were clouds, servers, tables and microservices.
My father had a policy on hiring before he retired as far as hiring new college grads… people who went to good land grant institutions, smaller colleges that were focused on business or did time in a community college then transferred to a larger school that had the degree program went to the top of the stack. Sad to see Ivy league graduates join Evergreen college into the wastebin category.
I'd heard that Evergreen college grad.s have started scrubbing that event from their resumes LOL.
Article is pretty silly, as if any Ivy League graduates are applying for a job at First Things.
Me too - the most damming characteristic they share. Moral cowardice.
US govt likes these traits. Clowns recruits these schools, Yale, Cornell, Stanford, etc.
