Telegram is an extremely well made app, at least on android - it's a pleasure to use, it's easily the most polished app I've ever used. It's super stable, never experienced a problem with their servers. They host an insane amount of videos and provide free unlimited storage for everyone. There are no ads but they're not asking for donations. I'd like to find out how do they make money to pay for it. We all know that if something is free then you are the price. Telegram is either a platform provided to us by the good guys (let's call them white hats for no reason) or we are completely fucked and first in line to be executed. Just an observation, I want to know what you guys think. I don't know if that's a correct place to ask these kind of questions but you guys are the most aware. I'm not going to stop using it because there's too much interesting stuff and people there are just helpful and there's very little swearing. If there was an app which could open people's eyes and to make them aware... It's telegram from my experience.

Neither do I. I just use a browser instead.
I have a friend who gets all the same stories which appear here come through the various telegram channels (or whatever they are) she is subscribed to.
I've been wondering the same thing as you. Why does it work so well? Where's the income? It's similar to this website in that regard.
She says she thinks the cabal has a hand in Telegram. I'm leaning towards white hats. It's really too effective at waking people up to be a black hat outfit.
I keep telling people that "Telegram is the chat experience that you didn't even know that you wanted to have."
I keep wondering about how much of a monetary head-start did they have for this app. They have handled 10x user increase with no issues whatsoever. Time will tell if it's provided by the good guys or it's controlled opposition to FB and friends.
I came across this post about Telegram: https://www.feedough.com/how-telegram-works-makes-money/
I don't have the app. I do watch a few accounts on the web. But since I have never signed in, I can't see a lot of the videos. Some I can, but even they are wonky. Many won't play at all. I can read the comments, though.
A lot of people who we would want to reach out to will not want to sign up. They will just want to view "from a distance" like I do. But they will miss out on a lot because the online version is far from great. It isn't even good IMO.
Is it worth getting on telegram? I'm on Gab, but it kind of sucks. I just duplicate post from the same account posting about covid vaccines over and over again. Maybe I'm following the wrong people, but there's only a few well known people on there.
I would not be surprised, and I think it likely that telegram is one of those FBI spy apps like anom.
What's anom?

My wife loves Telegram. Maybe I should get on.
Found Pavel Durov's account.
