Telegram is an extremely well made app, at least on android - it's a pleasure to use, it's easily the most polished app I've ever used. It's super stable, never experienced a problem with their servers. They host an insane amount of videos and provide free unlimited storage for everyone. There are no ads but they're not asking for donations. I'd like to find out how do they make money to pay for it. We all know that if something is free then you are the price. Telegram is either a platform provided to us by the good guys (let's call them white hats for no reason) or we are completely fucked and first in line to be executed. Just an observation, I want to know what you guys think. I don't know if that's a correct place to ask these kind of questions but you guys are the most aware. I'm not going to stop using it because there's too much interesting stuff and people there are just helpful and there's very little swearing. If there was an app which could open people's eyes and to make them aware... It's telegram from my experience.

I keep telling people that "Telegram is the chat experience that you didn't even know that you wanted to have."
I keep wondering about how much of a monetary head-start did they have for this app. They have handled 10x user increase with no issues whatsoever. Time will tell if it's provided by the good guys or it's controlled opposition to FB and friends.
I came across this post about Telegram: https://www.feedough.com/how-telegram-works-makes-money/
