I don’t think I’ve ever heard that term before but I think I’m going to try to use it in place of the word balanced just cuz it sounds funny.

A gimble is a mount that allows movement in multiple directions. For example, the compass on a sailboat is mounted that way so that it will stay level all the time and point the way properly.
