I've worked here for 4 years and I know they can't afford to train someone else with the workload we do. And since I've been in IT nearly all my life I can safely say I can get a job elsewhere with relative ease. Never resign. Just continue doing what's right until they attempt to fire you, then sue.
Document, document, document. Take notes of meetings and comments, note who was at what meeting, the time, date, location. Get every order in writing if possible. No detail is too small, get a notebook started. Make them fire you, ensure that you keep all correspondence about your performance as well going back as far as you can.
