So of Twitter claims to own the content posted there, that opens them to liability for the ISIS beheadings and child porn that they allow on their site. If they claim they don't own it, they are forced to allow anything back up that is not explicitly illegal. Does this sound about right?
Indeed, they are forced once and for all to choose between enjoying the curation power of a publisher or the hands-off indemnity of a platform, NOT both as they have abused for too long.
This is a tricky one, because even if the users 'own' the content, it is stored on servers owned by Twitter. I doubt they are under any obligation to allow a third party tool to scrape a users posts from their servers.
On the other hand, Twitter should make all of a users content available as a single download. A simple css file would be sufficient, and then GETTER could just write a script to import it from the file.
Does this explain the logic bomb to GET TwitteR ?
Nice!!
GETTR = Get Twitter!!!
Maybe add this to the class action lawsuit
