It really sounds like how Ivermectin, HCQ, and others are purported to act.
YKYRYL carries the dominant binding epitope and binds to ACE2 with KD = 46 μM. The binding mode was further characterized by saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR spectroscopy and molecular dynamic simulations. Based on this information the peptide can be used as lead structure to design potential entry inhibitors against SARS-CoV and related viruses.

Hexapeptide YKYRYL specifically inhibits SARS infection in cells.
Ding ding, sounds like they skipped past a proven treatment, in their own NIH study, in order to push the "vaccines" instead. Add it to the list of proofs they never intended to do anything but manufacture these Frankenstein's monster, chop-shop "vaccines."

Using MD simulations, we investigate the assembly process of a Coronavirus Spike protein fragment, the hexapeptide YKYRYL on the ACE2 receptor and its inhibitzory effect on the aggregation and activation of the CoV-2 spike receptor protein at the same receptor protein.
Usually, normal vaccines anywhere from 5 to 10 years before antibody production is "forgotten" about, for lack of a better term. Tetanus shots and the like function on that general time frame.
At least, that's if the regular vaccine jargon is anything to go by. I don't trust a lick of it at this point, but it's the best time frame we got.
Even so, antibody production doesn't appear to be the main avenue for the making of spike proteins.
How the mRNA works is that it teaches the body itself to make the spike protein in the "hopes" that the body will then learn on its own to kill target the spike proteins. Putting it that way alone should make you shake in anger at just how risky such a thing could be -- turning people into a spike protein factory.
As proven by Pandemrix, the body is smart enough to trace the production of pathogens back to its source and learn how to kill the producer as well as the pathogen. That's how H1N1 vaccines confuse the brain cells that manage hypocretin production with swine flu and kills the brain, resulting in narcolepsy.
Who knows what parts of the body can actually produce the spike proteins that they haven't accounted for. The heart itself could be producing the spike proteins. If that is the case, then eventually people's immune system will learn to attack heart cells, whether or not they themselves consist of the protein.
The only chance is to get them to suppress the spike protein any way they can. This method is a good first start at avoiding the blood clots and transmission, but there's no telling if it will help in stopping the immune system from going full kamakazi.
It's a freaking wild west scenario tacked onto a global experiment. ANYTHING can happen at this point. I doubt they even know what the end result will be.
