You can always take trips to the coast if you love the ocean.
Another consideration is taxes .. no state income tax, that in itself will save you anywhere from ~5% (look up the NY state income tax brackets for your tax filing status). Plus I imagine the cost of living is lower depending on location, etc.
Lots to consider, but I suggest before taking the plunge to start looking for jobs, maybe take a trip or two to SD and check it out, etc.
Yes. And if you move into a smaller town, the housing market is dirt cheap. When I decided to move, I found a house that I liked. I had been saving when I lived in Tennessee to buy a house. Had saved enough for a respectable down payment. The house I bought here cost me less than the down payment on a house in Tennessee. And I have land too. It’s amazing.
I really enjoyed visiting Rapid City in the summer but I'm concerned about winter as I'm sick of Midwest winters as it is and would prefer less or no snow. Plus the lack of an international airport would make travel a hassle.
I'm going camping in the Black Hills again soon. Great place to get away from nutty people. The attitude of the governor really does seem to be the general flavor of the people there.
I like that kind of mandate. Sure, the vax is free, take it if you want. But we will not force you anything because the whole thing is bullshit. Live your lives freely and dont mind what that unelected shithead does
do it:) bet you would love Mt. R. and the Black Hills.
plus a lot of Q hints;
it's in the town of Keystone,
at least two statues of JFK and Jr.in the area,
George Washington's spot on the Presidential Trail is #17,
the monument is at 1745 meters.
and JFK Jr. had a picture of Mt. R. on his Survival Guide to the Future edition. lots of interesting connections, and now Mike lindell is holding a cyber symposium in SD🤔
Does anyone else want Governor Noem to wrap their head with the American flag and kick them in the nuts while she recites the Declaration of Independence…
Based Kristi. Proud to live in SD
this^ SD=common sense🇺🇸
Are they’re job opportunities in SD? I’d go there in a nanosecond but hubby is worried about finding work.
The job market is crazy good. Just vote republican lol
From New York...believe me I would never vote blue. I’d miss the ocean though. I guess there’s large lakes there that would compensate?
I know just joshing lol
There are some lakes, but there are TONS in Minnesota which is pretty close.

Large lakes in South Dakota? Check another map! :)
East river has a lot of manufacturing. Sioux Falls would be a good bet.
What type of manufacturing facility? ...

this company has been advertising a lot, and their ads sound conservative. https://www.kelolandemployment.com/vj/cnc-machinist-7-500-hiring-bonus/159873
Last free state in America. I wasnt born in SD. but the state adopted me 3 years ago. It is without question, my home now.
Send all the chicken shits to California and lock it down. So sick of the hypochondriacs running the show.
Wish AZ had a governor with balls.
….or Texas!
or Georgia!
...or Mississippi!
Or Arkansas
...or Ohio
hasn't SD thumbed their noses at the lockdowns since day one? or am I thinking of someone else? lol
Ya we did
I thought as much.
Excellence in action!

Visiting from Illinois it was weird to hear locals of a state actually praising their governor.

Almost like freedom in America is one of our core tenets or something.
I'm very likely about to be banned from working in my country of residence over my refusal to get the "vaccine".
My home state just banned fucking GAMING COMPUTERS......
Maybe I need to go live near Mt. Rushmore...
do it:) bet you would love Mt. R. and the Black Hills.

Man I love based states.

…or is that just me.
[Im not weird] [You’re weird]
That's nice. Why couldn't she ignore the NCAA?
