Well the work apocalypse actually means awakening or revelation. So I would say that is exactly what is happening. People are seeing evil for what it truly is.

Yes it does not apply merely to one time period.

Also all "revelation" of catastrophe is a warning, which our prayers and our actions may forestall or mitigate . . . it is not a blue print.

Agreed. There was multiple days of the Lord in the bible and we are probably in one. Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah for just 2 examples.
