A question about tobacco.

I've noticed that msm, big pharma, and government hates cigarettes and smokers. Now I've been a smoker for 10+ years. I am in no way telling you to smoke or saying that it's good for you. It's highly addictive and I cough a lot. That being said, why is the deepstate against tobacco? Has anyone ever dug into this?

Can't find the info but I now remember that I heard it on Rush Limbaugh's show many years ago. Rush could do some digs. It was a settlement (not taxes).
