Will it actually prevent the automatic updates if you put your phone (off) in the microwave, as someone mentioned?

Do not put your fucking phone in the microwave. I shouldn't even have to say this.
Obviously I would make sure not to turn it on, dude.
Put your phone in there and try to call it.
From another phone...
You're welcome.
Lol. Yes, try this. The glass on the door of the microwave will not prevent anything from reaching your cell phones. A proper faraday cage needs to be 100% sealed by the same material all the way around, you can’t have five sides made up of metal and then the sixth wall be made of glass like in a residential microwave. This fallacy won’t stop anything.
No. No no. I wasn't being facetious. It works.
If you were to have tried it, you would know that your phone call did not go through for some reason, unless your microwave has a leak.
The 'glass' and surrounding body of a microwave has to be able to stop microwaves from pouring out... It works.
Maybe it’s dependent on how powerful your cell connection is to the tower. I’ve tried this in multiple microwaves and my ATT cell phone receives the call every time.
just get an old broken one, don't plug it in. Put your cell phones, electronic stuff in it, hard drive backups, etc., acts like a faraday cage. When the EMP hits your phone will still work. Don't know about the cell towers though.....so may be all for naught.
