Nobody expects spiritual nourishment from a doctor, they tend to the physical body.

Nobody goes to a pastor for an ear infection, they tend to the spiritual body.

Why are spiritual keepers of the flock advising anyone on matters of the physical body?

If a doctor encouraged us to read the first book of Numbers because we were feeling lonely we'd be just as skeptical. They both have no credibility in these recommendations. So why would people accept these recommendations? In a word, deception. They've been deceived. By what, by whom? We already know.

Christianity has gained a rep for being the pacifistic pushovers who are "nice". They forget that Jesus cleared his Father's house with a cat o nine tails, and rebuked his own apostles in their folly.

This is not a time to be nice. This is a time to clear the house.
