Who told us they were the bad guys? Who told us all the "poor women and children"??? Who has ALWAYS told us who the bad guys are and who the good guys are??? Answer: The government and the media... if we haven't believed the media in such a long time, why are we all of a sudden believing them now??? In several threads I've seen oh the poor women and children. Oh look at all the deaths etc. Wake up people, the media is at it again and you folks are eating it up... Let's turn on our brains and turn off the feefees... Good Grief!!!

I agree with Ron Paul's stance on these middle east scenarios - it's not that they aren't "bad' or are "bad" - that really isn't our place to figure out. I'm not saying people haven't died. I have friends that were there and have lost comrades to the war. I'm not being uncaring, but why were the Taliban made out to be the bad guys? These people have had their country invaded by others for a couple thousand years. We're just the latest in the long line. In recent history the British, French, Russian and the USA have been in their country. Do you wonder why they hate western civilization? Do you wonder why they fight as hard as they do? They're tired of people meddling in their land. Put yourself in their shoes and here in America. What if for the last 2 milenia your country was invaded by someone over and over and over? Wouldn't you and all us patriots be fed up?
I am so very sorry for the loss of your comrades and our troops. I have nothing but respect for our military past, present and future. 3 times I tried to go to the sandbox and 3 times I was denied. My family has been military since WWII. You men and women deserve a fuckton better than you've gotten and I support you with all my being. Please don't mistake my question as disrespect because that is the furthest thing from the truth. The middle east has been a pit of waring tribes for centuries! I think the ONLY reason we got sucked into that quagmire was for oil ... and heroin (for the CIA to traffic) ... Pretty much what I'm saying here... We're being lead down the merey path again... I read on the boards something very true... Endless wars = Endless money... Who pays for both sides of these endless wars??? The cabal... Not the ds, not even the 13 families... I'm talking the real people pulling the strings... If memory serves, 3 ancient bloodlines...
Umm...if you haven't been over there and seen the atrocities, or don't personally know someone who has, then keep you fucking mouth shut on this subject. You don't know what you're talking about. This is one of those subjects that the MSM has been right on all along. The Taliban has to be put down for good, in order for the Afghani people to be truly free.
That being said, should we be there right now, or have gotten involved like we did? No. Could we have done this better? Yes. But that's not where we're at today.
Since we tried, and the ADF folded like they did, then let them have the Taliban. They knew what would come if they didn't stand rigidly in the face of the Taliban and defeat them. So, looks to me the Afghan people, deep down, kind of want it.
We can't be the World Police and nation builders any longer. That should be clear to everyone now.

Back in the 90's and until the war, the Taliban were pretty messed up. It's possible the current Taliban are not quite the same.
