I have to dig it up, but I subscribe to a civil war magazine that is very old and reality based, no lib nonsense, but they had a whole article like 15 years ago about how this guy was conman and had some of his letters printed and the records that he never worked for Lee. They had letters from him to his son if I recall where he was bragging about conning the Daughters of the Confederacy out of room and board for months.
General Lee was a constant letter writer and mentioned almost all of his servants by name, and he never mentioned William Mack Lee.
I found a print of an earlier version of the article.
Now that is interesting. The more I learn about the Civil War (like the 3rd army of the west that refused to fight) the more I believe the truth is covered up.
Were you also aware that during the Civil war the largest US military base/camp was built in the territory that would become Utah? I will need to drive out to Tooele again to get more info about that.
I was floored when I learned the largest army was sent here to fight the "Mormon Problem" after they offered individual liberty (ie anti slave) ideas in multiple states. Seeing government was the problem the left the union & settled unsettled territory only to be chased by big government & the new settlers refused to fight the army that was sent. Something about pies, being neighborly, etc...
The fights just didn't happen on a large scale. Many local leaders were taken & roughed up, though the Christians who fled federal control simply wanted to emulate the prince of peace as they understood his teachings.
It is pretty clear this war for individual liberty has been going on for far longer than any of us realize.
Every time they go full commie the broader reality of truth comes back to bite their asses! Bravo!
These snippets of historical truth are more powerful than the best crafted MSM faux-emotive drivel.
Loyalty is not a mark of weakness but a strength of character.

There's a great line at the end: With most people getting their news from newspapers, there's no wonder the history they are getting is bunk.
I did not know this. I just deleted the post. Sorry frens!
