From the executive summary, the EAC said that the 2020 General Election has the highest voter turnout in their history, with 67.7% of the citizen voting age population (CVAP) casting ballots that were counted. That's a 6.7% increase over 2016, they said.
Mailed ballots was ~43% of the total electorate. That's about a 20% increase over 2016.
In the policy side, 51.8% offer same day voter registration (SDR) and ~80% offer online voter registration, an increase over 2018. The 29 states that did SDR had 1.6 Million voters added in 2020. That represents ~1% of the total number of ballots cast (EAC reported ~161 Million In 2020).
In 2020, 14 states reported having an all-mail election, where ballots were mailed out to the entire electorate.
That's very interesting and I like the format. Can't wait to see the 2020 numbers. What did you find most interesting?
