Will the military except a religious exemption? I ask because my son is NG, and isn't getting the shot or flu shot no matter what they do to him for not getting them. I'm grateful that he is making a stand. Though he had drill this past weekend and he said they didn't even mention the vaxx mandate at all. So fingers crossed that some commanders aren't enforcing it, I don't know, I'm glad they didn't say anything about it. And also because of my friend I was talking about, because I bet they will use the military contracts as an excuse of why they have to mandate it. I think she believes in God but she doesn't go to church like her sister does. I met this friend because I have been friends with her sister for a long time. They are both good people. She probably won't try to use the religious exemption because she will feel guilty about it. Just like she wouldn't try to get a fake card either. She doesn't ever lie about anything, and she straight shoots what she wants to say, whether you like it or not, lol. She tells people if you don't like the fact I'm not wearing a mask in my office then don't come in here, lol. I've been sending her anything & everything I can find or come across so that she is well informed if she tries to fight it. Told her do not quit, make them fire you. Get other like minded employees and find a lawyer together. They only have about 3 weeks left before their deadline.
I am Air National Guard, and our supervision has basically stated that we should not make an irrational decision to take the shot if we do not want it yet. They have provided guidance for the process to submit either, a religious exemption or a medical exemption. Our active duty counterparts in my unit have until Nov. 2 to get fully vaccinated, and we (for now) have until Dec. 2. The feeling I get is our State Guard Bureau is looking at options. There is also a class action lawsuit filed by the Marines against the Sec. Def. They want to see how this plays out. As a guard member we may have a little more weight because we are not as easy to replace as our active duty counterparts. I had a meeting with my First Sgt about this and explained that I am religious, I go to church, but that is not why I will not take the shot. I have taken every other shot they have given me including anthrax since I enlisted in 2003. Given what I know now, I believe God is telling me to take a stand on this issue, and be a light to anyone around me who needs support or guidance.
Thank you for telling me this, I appreciate it! I was so worried when I first heard of the mandate. I just feel in my bones that my son would be hurt by the vaxx if he took it. My "feelings" are usually spot on when I get them, I just have to trust them and not wonder if I'm just a worried mom or if God is telling me something I need to listen, you know? I also told my son not to get the flu shots anymore either, he gets sick every time he takes it because the military tells him it's mandatory. If the flu shot makes him sick imagine what this vaxx will do to him? And he lives a very healthy lifestyle, eats right, exercises not only in the gym but in Jiu Jitsu also multiple times a week. He's also a level 2 crossfit trainer. I told him to look into a health exemption if he could actually find a doctor who would help him with it because of how the flu shots affect him, but the only thing is would the NG hold that against him? Whereas they most likely won't with a religious exemption.
I don't know what's going to happen, but my "feeling" on it is to wait, just wait. I think things will turn around and the mandates will stop. Not that I think people should not go ahead with if they are thinking on doing an exemption, because it might help them until the time comes that things get turned around. Does that make sense? Like no one should quit their jobs (unless they found another job) and wait it out, even if that means being laid off, because even if you're laid off there are jobs out there though maybe not what you were doing before and may not like or get paid the same, but when things turn around, maybe they will offer their job back. At least you will be alive and not vaxxed injured for the rest of your life.
