Lots of pyramids, too.
Cyclist. Landscape has changed dramatically. Group rides have become non-competitive. In the minds of the older guys, racing has taken an extreme back seat to social aspects in the community.
Yeah - noticing a more of the older guys going to e-bikes. Hmmm....
And we have the best training available - I finally got on Zwift last winter did a 12 week FTP program - I raised it 35 watts! And it was already pretty nice.
Seems you can be you absolute best or you absolute worst. You can grow or shrink. Live or die.
Seems like not a lot of middle ground left. we are being forced to make a decision. Well I made mine. A while ago. Sticking with it!
Mountain biker mostly - in the VERY vaccinated state of Connecticut. I don't have too many KOMS overall but I have a ton of fastest segments for the year. More than usual.
Also, I ran the New Haven half marathon - attendance was tiny.
A lot of people barely able to balance a bike any more.. assuring their little circle of crippled confidants that.. the agony and failing ability means the vax is working properly?
Imagine investing so much $ and time in your fitness, health, in whole foods, expensive equipment and supplies and consumables.. and then you go enthusiastically shoot up with the nastiest ghetto crack you can find, while taking selfies of the experience to post to your tiktok.
Common sense has never had such scarcity.
